Behind the Scenes in the Studio: A Day in My Life at Crafted by Lexy

From the outside, it might look like I “just pour pretty things.” Inside the studio, the day is a mix of chemistry, design, logistics, and a lot of cleaning.

Morning: Prep and Planning

Mornings usually start with coffee and a quick review of messages and orders. I check curing pieces, make notes on what’s ready to demold, and decide which pours can happen that day. Then I line up molds, pigments, and any special keepsakes that need to be integrated

  • Midday: Mixing, Pouring, and Detail Work
  • Once everything is prepped, I measure and mix resin in batches, adjusting colors as I go. This is the most focused part of the day: torching bubbles, watching how pigment moves, and placing florals or foils exactly where they need to sit. There’s usually music or a podcast playing, but my hands are fully in the zone.

  • Afternoon: Demolding and Finishing
  • As earlier pieces finish curing, I demold, sand, and refine edges. I’ll test how trays feel in my hands, how coasters sit on a tabletop, and how colors shift in different light. This is also when I attach hardware, backing, or bumpers.
  • Evening: Content,

  • Packaging, and Cleanup
  • The last part of the day is quieter—photographing finished items, drafting captions, answering inquiries, and carefully wrapping orders. Then I clean surfaces, reset tools, and make lists for the next day. It’s a full cycle, but the moment I see a piece finished and ready to go out the door never gets old.
