Custom sets are where everything clicks—trays, coasters, ring dishes, and bowls working together as a family. Here’s how I approach building them.
Start With the Anchor Piece
- We usually choose one anchor piece first: a vanity tray, serving tray, or larger plaque. That piece sets the tone for colors, finishes, and mood. Once that’s decided, smaller items are designed to complement it, not compete.
- Repeat, Don’t Copy
- In a good set, you’ll see repeated colors, metals, or textures—but not exact duplicates. Maybe the tray has bold marbling while the coasters carry a softer version of the same palette. The ring dish might echo a single color or motif pulled from the larger piece.
- Function Meets Aesthetic
- I think about how you’ll actually use the set. Coasters go in the living room, a tray on the dresser, a ring dish by the sink. They should look good together on Instagram, yes—but also make sense in different corners of your home.

- Growing Your Collection Over Time
- You don’t have to buy a full set all at once. Many clients start with one piece and slowly add on. Because I keep notes on your palette and finishes, we can build out your collection over time without losing cohesion.
